Join me as I live a high vibrational life in Bali, ditching low vibrational chemical based products for the home and skin, for more natural, eco friendly alternatives. Many that you can make yourself from home. If you love this you'll my Eco Friendly All Purpose Kitchen Cleaner and my nourishing wonder oil. I'm also working on a natural sunscreen too.

Eco-Friendly Palo Santo Insect Repellent Recipe that works! I'm road testing this one out in Bali: 2 kids, 2 adults and so far... so good!

Ingredients:

  • 10-15 drops of Palo Santo essential oil

  • 2 tablespoons of witch hazel or vodka (as a natural preservative)

  • 2 tablespoons of carrier oil (such as jojoba oil or almond oil)

  • 2 tablespoons of distilled water or kangan

  • Optional: 5-10 drops of other essential oils (like citronella, lavender, or eucalyptus) for added effectiveness and scent.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Bottle:

    • Use a clean spray bottle, preferably glass, to avoid any chemical reactions with plastic.

  2. Combine Ingredients:

    • In the spray bottle, add the witch hazel or vodka. This helps to preserve the mixture and ensures the oils blend well.

    • Next, add the Palo Santo essential oil. If you’re using additional essential oils, add them now.

    • Pour in the carrier oil to help dilute the essential oils, making them safe for skin application.

    • Finally, add distilled water to fill the bottle.

  3. Mix Well:

    • Close the spray bottle and shake well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.

  4. Label the Bottle:

    • Label your insect repellent for easy identification. Include the date you made it.

  5. Usage:

    • Shake the bottle before each use to ensure the oils are mixed.

    • Spray the repellent on exposed skin, avoiding the face and sensitive areas. Reapply every few hours as needed, especially if you are sweating or after swimming.

  6. Storage:

    • Store the insect repellent in a cool, dark place to maintain its effectiveness.

Tips:

  • Conduct a patch test on a small area of skin to check for any allergic reactions.

  • Keep the repellent away from pets and children unless properly diluted and advised.

  • Use this repellent outdoors or in areas where insects are prevalent for maximum effectiveness.

This natural insect repellent harnesses the pleasant scent of Palo Santo while effectively keeping bugs at bay, making it a great eco-friendly alternative to commercial products!

FLETCH - BE NOTHING LIKE

Hey you! My name is Fletch, a Northern girl from the UK, living with the love of my life (aka Mr Be Nothing Like) and our 2 children, Lilly + Bertie Boo. We're about to embark on some big life moves, selling our things to move to the other side of the world, Bali, Indonesia to live a high vibe life of our dreams. You can find me in coffee shops working on my business (which runs passively), while researching on Instagram what to make for dinner. And at home (as I really am a home girl), world schooling my children, doing yoga, meditating, being in nature. I created this blog to share everything I have learnt about creating a freedom life. A life of your dreams, through harnessing energy + vibration to create a life where you feel happy, balanced, successful and free. A life you deserve. A life that you love. There is another way. I'm sharing everything that I know.
