If you found this page, you are probably like me, a Millennial, Gen X, or Xennial over 40 struggling to create SEO-optimized titles and keyword-rich video descriptions for YouTube... Let alone write them fast. Above anything, this was the one area that stumped me. And even though my video was completed and uploaded I just didn't know what to title it as. Then the description. What would I write to be in line with SEO practices that would help my videos get out to the right people.
My day job is working in SEO (getting websites to top page or top spot through SEO) - one of the ways I earn money online to allow me to travel and worldschool my kids without being fixed to a location. Working smarter is my motto and I want to show others how to do exactly the same so they have the time to work on themselves: their spiritual side, their mental health, their self care - all the things that get forgotten about when living our overly busy trapped Western lifestyles. And even though my business is in the SEO line of work, even I struggled with applying my knowledge to my YouTube videos.
My background is in SEO for websites - so, getting websites (including my own) to page 1 and Top ranking positions / position 1 in Google, for the keywords they want to rank for. Which means more sales for a products based business. So I know just how important SEO is in the online earning world. If no one is seeing your products, you will have a hard time selling the products and will have to up your marketing spend to market them in front of the right customers eyes. Likewise, for YouTube channel growth, if no one is seeing your videos because the are not properly optimized for SEO, then you'll have a hard time getting your video's in front of the people that need to see them and thus growing your audience and thus reaching those goals of monetization.
But, if you are not an expert at SEO, SEO can seem like a really daunting thing. But it doesn't need to be. You have 3 options to get really good at SEO:
1.) You can either trawl the internet and learn the stuff. This can take years to do (I know because I've put 1000's of hours over the last 15 years in doing this to get really good at SEO). Google is an amazing tool to find all of the info you need to learn and start properly SEO-ing your business, products, videos etc. But there's so much info out there, you'll need lot's of time to find the right info, decipher what info you need and apply the learned info to get really good at SEO. Most people just don't have the time.
2.) You can hire an SEO expert (like me) that will, help you get your website / youtube vids, product pages / whatever to the top of Google or YouTube's Search. But they will charge a lot. This will cost YOU money, sometimes quite a lot of money and it is not an instant fix. IT's an ongoing contract that requires constant updates and every time you launch that new product or upload that new video you'll need to get the wallet out again to pay the SEO contractor or in house SEO team as we used to in our business.
3.)
