Growing My New YouTube Channel | 1 Goal: Monetization | Getting Account Monetized

Hey I’m Fletch and I've started a new YouTube account for this blog, that I plan to grow with the main goal to Monitize / Monetise it so that I can get a passive income from YouTube. I plan to post weekly videos where I show my growth stats with you and how my channel is doing. Subscribe to the blog to get updates of when I blog + of course subscribe to Youtube to get these new video updates if this is your kind of thing. ONE GOAL: Monetization for a brand new small YouTube Channel within a niche category.

I’m part of a family of 4 who took the plunge to uproot our lives from the UK to Bali in pursuit of a more meaningful and fulfilled happier life. You can read all about it on this blog and follow our socials to see what we're up to day to day living our dream life.

We earn all of our family income online and this allows us to work remotely from anywhere in the world (which is the best way to earn imo). Either through products based online business or digital products business or via passive income streams. I plan to share everything I know on this blog to help future wanna-be digital nomads to do exactly the same. Because you can. Anyone can. I was stuck in an office that I didn't want to be in. I wanted freedom and money to do what I wanted. the way I wanted to live.

We've just started a Youtube Account to accompany this blog primarily to document our Bali travel life to keep friends and family updated on our exciting journey. But because we love to explore ways of earning online passively (and more so love to drill down on stats), we want to share our own personal journey in starting and growing a Youtube Account (as complete newbies / beginners). So that we can share our own journey to inspire others thinking about starting their own YouTube channel with the purpose of getting it monetized too.

At the time of writing this I currently have only 11 subscribers, 1k views, 3.3 hours watch time (so you can see just how small and new the YouTube channel is), but this has increased significantly since my blog post yesterday where I wrote about my plans to grow the channel for monetization. The only way from the bottom is UP. And this growth is an increase of 1,038% and I'm excited to start documenting the growth process with you. It's all a numbers game.

I want to document my own journey on monetizing this YouTube channel from the point of view of someone that's never monetised social media before. I've never even made YouTube videos before, even though I earn online, and so this is going to be a personal challenge that I can't wait to start. AND I have NEVER earned from social media at all despite it being such a huge opportunity to earn passively and online. So someone like me, who feels that Youtube maybe isn't for them. Or that they are too old or don't have anything interesting to share (All negative self doubt and self sabotaging beliefs btw, which stopped me from starting my channel many years ago). And so let's stop with all that and watch me do this thing, so that you can do it too! I'm not expecting it to be easy, or fast. I'm preared to put the consistency and hard work in. Showing up every day for 3 months and sticking to my plan.

For transparency: I'm definitely not a guru in this area (yet!). In fact I'm a total newb. I've never earned a penny from YouTubing. I earn from my online products based business. My online digital based business. Blogging. Rewards from staking crypto. We've actually never monitized any of our social media accounts, never put any real effort into growing them, rather used them as a family photo album. I have limited video making / editing video experience, with limited technology (I'll be shooting content all on my IPhone13 with a mid-price range Gimble). I'm also personally quite shy, an introvert - I'm 41 and feel a little bit 'past it' in terms of getting in front of a camera and putting myself out there on social media. I feel as though Youtube isn't really for people like me - but I know this is nonsense and so all the advice I throw out to other people, I'll be bestowing on myself. I'll be putting all this negative self sabotaging talk to one side to just DO IT. And show how I grew my accounts and monitized them. At this point I have no expectations or time scales of how long it will take. I will commit to 3 months of dedicated, consistent posting, by which time I'll review my account position.

This post is going to go in a section on the blog that will be a series of videos for YouTube that will be all about Earning Online, having multiple income streams and passive income streams to become financially independent - live the life you actually want instead of a job you hate, not earning enough etc. I have a lot of experience in this field that I can share and know I can help so many Start their own online earning journey. I can also help others already earning online to scale and grow into 7 figure earnings just as I have done with my online earning. 

SO WHAT'S THE PLAN?

My Commitment to Content - I'll be committing to growing the channel for 3 months. Then reviewing it to see where it's up to. 3 months of weekly and consistent posting.

Where I'll post 2 videos per week on my niche subject - which is my Bali life - Wellness + Personal Growth for this Mum of 40+ who lost herself a little in-between having babies & living a disconnected western busy life. To help others earn more to live their Freedom Life. And a 3rd video - The Channel Growth Review each week (probably a Sunday) to show my channels stats, to see what's working / or not, and to show how the channel is growing.

Account Growth Review videos - Each week the 3rd video will be a video of myself talking on camera (eeek), where I'll post a video update on how the channel is doing so you can see exactly what's what.

My dream goal - The goal is solely to GET MONITIZED to start earning from YOUTBE. This and this alone. So I have another passive income stream. I see others doing it all the time so I just need to get over my shyness and bloody well do it. These weekly update videos will help me keep myself accountable so I don't give up and also to show others how they can grow their own social media accounts from zero and with limited equipment and skills. To share my experiences of what is working for us and what we're doing to grow the channel.
